Men’s Fashion Trends 2022: Nobody Can Ignore These 7 Styles

Back To The Suit

The suit returns to the catwalk not only at Jil Sander, but also at Louis Vuitton. However, instead of relying on the classic cut, Virgil Abloh plays with the proportions and details for the French cult brand. The trousers are looser, the jacket has a belt tied around it and is fitted with pins. Oversized gloves break up the look. True to the motto: Everything has changed and when the familiar returns, it also needs a different form.

The Wild West

As we already reported in our boot trends, fashion is fascinated by the freedom and eccentricity of the wild west. Not only is the classic hat worn, the collar of the shirt also peeks out from under the knitted jumper. The look is held together by a belt with a sheriff’s star and the unmistakable cowboy boots complete the picture. An inspiration that can be stylishly translated with just one of the elements – for a little eccentricity in everyday life.

Cut Out

What has been worn in women’s fashion for years will also find its way into menswear in 2022. So-called “cut outs” adorn trousers, shirts or, as Y Project shows, knit sweaters. It’s details like these that make a simple outfit interesting without having to use a lot of color. A refreshing development that men’s fashion, which was long dominated by suits, shirts and later by sneakers and jogging pants, is now finally daring to move on.

Bermuda Shorts

One of the biggest men’s fashion trends of 2022 announced itself on several catwalks. We saw the Bermuda shorts not only at Hermes, but also at Alyx, GmbH and Sacai. It was combined very differently and yet all looks worked equally well. So if you’re still looking for the right summer pants, you’ll be looking for medium-length Bermuda shorts next year.

Cardigans

Cardigans are another emerging trend. Cardigans that can be buttoned up in the middle. However, they should be worn unbuttoned and – Jil Sander demonstrates it – with a polo shirt underneath. It can also be a bit too long. Anyone who gets involved with the look will be rewarded with a cozy feeling of well-being on windy days that only the cardigan can bring.

Sleeveless Knit

It’s the cooler equivalent of a tank top in summer. It can be worn by anyone who feels comfortable wearing it – which applies to all clothing in general, but is emphasized again with the sleeveless polunder. We’ve seen it at Celine as well as Dior Homme, where it’s embroidered with the French label’s monogram. However, they work just as well without any motifs and combined with straight-cut trousers.

Sandals

Men’s sandals? Up to now it has been a rather sensitive topic, on which there was never really a consensus. This has come to an end at the latest since the presentation of the spring/summer fashion for 2022. We have seen sandals with long pants – at Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana and Sacai, among others, where the look was completed by a high-necked shirt. From now on, open sandals for men are not only comfortable, but also officially approved by fashion.
